What if Christmas Means a Little Bit More?

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so?

It came without ribbons.

It came without tags.

It came without packages, boxes or bags.

And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore.

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store.

What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
~Dr. Seuss

For many, all that preparation, stress, and self-imposed deadlines and perfectionism have led up to this day - Christmas Eve.  It's finally here.!  But, what if Christmas means more than the presents under the tree, the cards in the mail, and large dinners with family and friends?

For some, Christmas is a time of sorrow and apprehension.  Many do not have the means to provide gifts for everyone on their lists.   Many are apprehensive about interacting with family and friends that they haven't seen all year.

Even so, Christmas can be a time of great joy and magic if we are open to it.   Rather than dwell on the past or on what we do not have, we can focus on healing and personal growth.   Is there anything you can learn from this holiday season?  Perhaps, you will keep things simpler next year or approach family interactions differently.

This  is a wonderful time to take stock of the year that is coming to an end and set goals for the New Year!  If you don't have what you want in your life, what are some steps you can take to move toward your goals?  How can you keep the Christmas spirit going throughout the year?

I'd love to hear your ideas!  Please post a comment below or contact me at 732-842-3515 or coachjenna@formulaforexcellence.com.

Merry Christmas!
